Dr. Aarti Nayar grew up in Calgary and graduated from the University of Calgary. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, with a minor in Chemistry. She then attended the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, attaining her Doctor of Optometry degree.
Before graduating from optometry school, she completed externships in Bethel, Alaska, and Camrose, AB, with experience in general optometry, pediatrics/geriatrics, binocular vision and ocular pathology.
In school, she was a member of the National Optometric Student Association, which focused on providing eye health care to minority groups within the community.
Dr. Nayar is a member of the Alberta Association of Optometrists and is in high standing with the Alberta College of Optometrists.
Dr. Effie Sen grew up in Calgary and began to develop an interest in the profession of optometry at a young age. After attending the University of Calgary, she went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo.
As an optometry student, she completed her externship at the Eye Foundation of Utah, which focused on the management of glaucoma, cataracts, external disease, retinal disease and neuro-ophthalmology.
Dr. Sen recently returned to Calgary after having practiced in Southern California. She has more than 10 years of experience in primary eye care, ocular disease management and refractive surgery co-management.
Dr. Sen is pleased to be back in her hometown and is looking forward to establishing new patient relationships. When not working, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, especially her husband and their dog, Rocky.

Dr. Lema Delong is originally from the United States but has made her home here in Calgary. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Theater Arts from Brandeis University, with additional coursework in Biological Sciences at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
She graduated with a Doctorate in Optometry from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico. Her time there gave her experience with diabetic, glaucoma and visually impaired patients, as well as basic knowledge of Spanish. Internships in Florida rounded out her experience with general practice, cataract care and vision therapy.
Dr. Delong has been practicing in the Calgary and Lethbridge areas since 2005. When she isn't at the office, she enjoys crafting, photography, gardening, camping, walking her dog, and teaching martial arts. Dr. Delong is a regulated member of the Alberta College of Optometrists, the Canadian Association of Optometrists, the Alberta Association of Optometrists and the Calgary Society of Optometrists.
Dr. Garner is very excited to be joining the friendly and professional Optiko team with their state-of-the-art diagnostic eye equipment.
Kiera has been an optometrist for over 30 years. She did her training at the University of Waterloo. She is passionate about helping people with their vision. She loves to be very precise about your prescription, and she will listen to and take into account all of your unique visual needs. She will explain to you in layman's terms all the available options, and she will take the time to discuss these with you and demonstrate her projected visual correction for you. It is important to her that you know and understand all of your options without feeling pressured.
Dr. Garner worked at the Gimbel Eye Centre in Calgary for several years and has extensive experience with pre- and post-op laser, implantable contact lens (ICL) and cataract surgery. She goes to regular continuing education seminars in all optometric topics, including dry eye and vision therapy.
When not examining eyes, Kiera enjoys spending time with her two teenage sons, pursuing her hobbies and spending time with her extensive family in Calgary. Salsa dancing and the Anat Baniel Method of NeuroMovement® are also big passions. She lived in Mexico for two years and is fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Huynh’s educational background includes: a Bachelor of Science from the University of Calgary, and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo. She completed her disease and ocular therapeutics training in Florida, where she had the opportunity to work with optometrists and ophthalmologists, including: vitreoretinal, cataract and oculoplastic specialists.
Dr. Huynh has volunteered on eye care missions in Romania and hopes to continue to help communities locally and internationally. She is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists and the Alberta Association of Optometrists. Outside of optometry, she enjoys live music, reading, photography and spending time with her family.
